Professor
Education and Mentoring has been at the heart of Roy’s career – as a producer, as a mentor and now as Professor at Baruch College, CUNY, where he teaches a new course 21st Documentary, How to Watch, How to Produce, supported by a glittering cast of Oscar-winning filmmakers as guests. The bug for education first flourished with Roy creating a run of major series on the impact of education, and the power of culture to change our world.
He sees education and filmmaking as different aspects of Storytelling and making a difference. His passion at this stage in his career is in developing talents, bringing new voices into the creative industries, and exploring contemporary ideas with students to encourage critical and original thinking.
